NFL Week 18: Buccaneers vs Falcons

With an eye on the post-season implications, the NFL will ensure fans are tuned in right to the very end of the regular season. On Sunday, January 8th, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will wrap up their 2022 campaign in Atlanta with a 1:00 p.m. kick-off against the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

However, playoff-chase drama has been removed from their Week 18 matchup against the Falcons, as they have already ensured the top seed. It was a thrilling week 17 for the Buccaneers after clinching the NFC South on Sunday with a 30-24 win over the Carolina Panthers.

However, they will have an opportunity to finish off their regular season campaign with a win as they look to improve upon their 8-8 record. With five straight victories in their head-to-head series, including an impressive 21-15 decision in Tampa during Week Five, Tampa Bay enters the game with confidence that they can finish off the 2022 season strong.

No Rest For Brady, Other Bucs

Tom Brady and the rest of their starters are fully committed to competing, despite having a comfortable spot and there being no other prizes up for grabs.

“I haven’t missed a game other than my ACL (injury), and then in 2016, I missed the first four games. Other than that, I’ve played them all,” Brady said.

This is all a testament to Brady’s character, who for over two decades has never been content to just laze about a given Sunday. Brady’s determination sets an example for the rest of his team and it will be fascinating to see how he leads those around him one more time this year.

Coach Todd Bowles has confirmed that all-star quarterback Tom Brady will take the field with any other starter against their division rivals, the Atlanta Falcons. Bowles is doing everything he can to ensure that his players stay healthy and well-rested heading into the playoffs, but he doesn’t want to risk handing over any losses with so much at stake. Brady and his fellow starters will surely bring their A-game against the Falcons on Sunday.

“We can get better at a lot of things, so right now, we plan on playing him,” Coach Bowles said. We’ll see how the week goes going forward, but we can get better at a lot of things that we need to work on, and we don’t need our foot off the gas.”
