Jacksonville Overachieved Last Season

The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off an impressive season that exceeded expectations, and now they are gearing up for an even better year ahead. After winning their division in 2022-23 and securing a playoff victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Jaguars are no longer a team to be underestimated.

Led by their elite quarterback Trevor Lawrence and respected coach Doug Pederson, the Jaguars will face a tough first-place AFC schedule this upcoming season. They will have to face formidable opponents such as the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and defending Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, who ended their NFL playoff run last year.

Jacksonville Look to Capitalize on 24th Overall Pick

To prepare for the upcoming challenges, the Jaguars are focusing on improving in the off-season. With the 24th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the team has a prime opportunity to add talented players to their roster and change their fortunes for the upcoming season.

The Jaguars have several options to consider, including standout defensive players, promising wide receivers, and skilled tight ends. While the Jaguars face fierce competition from other teams looking to bolster their rosters, they know that selecting the right player could have a profound impact. The team is carefully weighing their options, including the possibility of trading up or down in the draft, to ensure they make the best possible choice.

One area of concern for the Jaguars is the potential loss of tight end Evan Engram, who may leave the team. However, with a strong first-round pick, the Jaguars could find a suitable replacement and give quarterback Trevor Lawrence the support he needs to excel in the coming season.

The Jaguars are confident that they can build on their success from last season, which included a narrow loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. With the right moves in the draft and throughout the off-season, the Jaguars believe they can overcome the challenges ahead and take their game to new heights.

Jaguars are Recognized

After an impressive turnaround last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars are starting to earn national attention. In particular, two of their players have caught the eye of the experts at Pro Football Focus (PFF).

Trevor Lawrence and Tyson Campbell were ranked No. 94 and No. 90, respectively, in PFF’s list of the top 101 players from the 2022 season. While neither player made the top 50, this is still a significant achievement for the Jaguars, as few of their players have made the cut in previous years.

This is the second time Lawrence and Campbell have been recognized this offseason, as they also appeared on ESPN’s list of the 100 most valuable players of the 2022 season. Lawrence was ranked No. 8, Campbell at No. 49, and running back Travis Etienne at No. 90.

All three players were part of Jacksonville’s 2021 draft class, which is turning out to be one of their best in recent years.

  • Lawrence was the first overall pick
  • Etienne was selected at No. 24, and
  • Campbell at No. 33.

Additionally, Walker Little (No. 45) could potentially step in at right tackle if Jawaan Taylor leaves in free agency, while safety Andre Cisco has become a key player in the Jacksonville secondary.
